The Barramundi is plentiful in the Mary River wetlands. Anglers come from all over the world to fish in the region at places like Shady Camp, Corroboree Billabong and the Adelaide River. Corroboree Park Tavern is at the heart of these spectacular fishing spots.

Huge wide rivers like the Daly and Mary river are prime barra haunts, as are the networks of beautiful waterways and billabongs found in World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park and the Mary River wetlands.
MARY RIVER WETLANDS REGION

Located in Mary River National Park, the famous Shady Camp is located approximately one hour from Corroboree Park Tavern. This picturesque area is surrounded by fresh water billabongs, paperbark and monsoon forests. Most NT rivers average five crocodiles per kilometre, but in the Mary River that number climbs to nearly 15 saltwater crocodiles per kilometre.
Take a fishing expedition during the ‘run-off’ between March and April each year, when the Mary River is teeming with the legendary barramundi.
