The Corroboree Park Tavern is the ideal place to stay if you wish to explore the real Top End. With access to two major river systems, the amazing Mary River wetlands and diverse environments, there is always something to do!

The Corroboree Park Tavern alone is set on 300 acres of natural bushland. You are welcome to wander the tracks and enjoy the solitude (the block is fully fenced so you can’t get lost). This is a must for bird watchers!

We also play host to live entertainment most weekends throughout the dry, as well as a number of fishing competitions and other events. Check out our events page to find out more.

Fishing

Within an hour’s drive from Corroboree Park Tavern, you have access to five boat ramps and many land based fishing spots, both fresh and salt water.

Please take care around the water courses, crocodiles do live here.

Take plenty of drinking water and always let someone know where you are going and around how long you will be away.

Check out our web links for charters or boat hire.

 Bird Watching

The Top End has an amazing array of birds. The Mary River Wetlands are home to over 200 species alone, including Brolgas, Black Necked Storks/Jabiru, Kingfishers, Pratincoles, Flycatchers, Finches, Comb Crested Jacanas, Rainbow Bee Eaters and much more.

There are also a number of species of migratory birds that pop in throughout the year.

The acres of grassland in the area provides habitat for many finches, wrens, mannikins and other seed eating species – and let’s not get started on Parrots, Cockatoos and Lorikeets!

There are several ways to enjoy our birds. You could hire a leisure boat for the day on Corroboree Billabong; this waterway is part of the Mary River System and is one of the Top End’s best kept secrets. Spend the night on a house boat listening to the Barking Owls talk to each other and the Dawn Serenade of hundreds of birds waking and joining in song. Truly amazing. There are also many guided cruises on Corroboree Billabong, including air boat rides across the flood plains. Seeing the many thousands of birds that the flood plains sustain is a real eye opener.
